AhYes,

Good Morning.    A Sea Gull to wish you a good day and a bright one;   courtesy of Angie who was out for an early morning walk with her two dogs Queso and Mac,.  Thanks Angie, brought back a memory or two of the Port where we used to go walking and watch the gulls strut and squeal.

Christine has two black cats who rule the roost.    Come four p.m. and they strut and let her know it is dinner time.  Each day they bring up pieces of papers, from scraps to a whole sheet;  wonder what the message is;  only they  know.   One of our ladies, Aggie, has a beautiful old cat and if you do not keep petting her, she puts up her clawed foot and demands your attention.

One of the photographs Erin took of the bridesmaids at the recent wedding she photographed.     She did a great job and this would be a prize winner as you can hear the ladies "Here Comes The Bride" ;  who cares if the wind blows and it sprinkles a bit.

I should and could say this but it depends on what day it is...smile.

I made blueberry pancakes this morning, damn the alarm, full speed ahead.   All I did was start my morning off by dropping an egg on the floor;  yuck.....but no harm, it washed up quickly, thank God I didn't drop the whole dozen.   Some mornings we do wake up and are clumsy, not of our own choosing, just that things happen.    They were delicious, no alarm went  off and I have batter left for another breakfast before the week is out.    I ran out of syrup but no big deal, a little butter and cinnamon works.

No Vinnie yesterday.  He is a man of moods, sometimes depression sets in and he hides out in his room ;  or he talks a buddy into going off in his car and does some shopping.    We have an agreement;  if we are both there in the lunch room and have time we will read his book;   if not we are free to do our own thing without guilt.   It works out fine and we are twenty five chapters into "Winds of War".  The new telephone list is out and my phone number is on it...now if it would ring that would be nice.   Cerease, one of our lovely ladies,  sat with us today and she was on a shopping spree and bought the new Harper Lee book which has been talked about recently.  She is reading "To Kill A Mocking Bird" first so let me read this second book. "Go Set A Watchman."   Not my usual kind of reading, but it is perking up.   The menu spouted turkey pot pie and some kind of Italian roll up.   Both were medioca as I ate the inner parts of he pie for lunch and brought back a roll for my dinner.    Daughter Christine stopped by so we had a jean dish special which was not all bad.

Christine is working hard with the committee to make a big success out of the upcoming Port Orchard 125th birthday bash.  It has been quite a feat to get everyone to cooperate and line up the activities for the entire weekend.   Labor Day already, how did it get here so fast.    It sounds like the ducks are in a row and if the weather cooperates everyone should have a great time.
So check around and find out what activities are on going in your town.    Make a list and check it twice and find out what you can go to and enjoy.  It takes participation from all the towns folk to make any and all events successful.    Labor Day coming up, a free day , a day to relax and get out and about and see how the other half lives.    Hopefully, you have a fair of some kind and can enjoy one of those big hotdogs or a pizza or a delicacy of your choosing.    I'm thinking ice cream...been awhile.   Whatever you choose, invite a family member or a friend, or both, and kick up your heels a bit.   Enjoy the outdoors and breathe...don't forget, be kind, be gentle and break out the smiles as you meet and greet folks you haven't seen for awhile.    Invite them to join you and find out what they have been up to and how life is treating them.   Don 't forget the hugs....lots of them.....oh so good for you.   Hugs to all.
