Awesome

Russet leaves, some red and gold, a smile, a sigh, nature's show.

We looked for the moon but couldn't find it here in the Northwest.  We wanted to see the eclipse but had to be satisfied with pictures.   A huge moon passing between the sun and earth another nature's show.

It is called a fly catcher, such a name for a beautiful bird, but we all have our jobs to do.

As the last of September says goodbye, October comes along with more colors of Fall, a snap to the air and soon Halloween will be here .   Mike and Mari are all ready In Virginia.  Wonder if that witch is guarding a  pumpkin filled with goodies.  Talk about spirit;  these two are full of it....good job.

The very last day of September, the month flew by  and set the pace for Fall.   Each day was different in changing from hot to cold , then cold to hot, sweater weather or pneumonia weather as the old folks would say. For goodness sake, you heard me groan and moan over the weather as if you could change it to behave.   Vacation time over, Sheila is home and smiling.   She is going to tell all about her trip and relive her experiences, her welcomes and goodbyes as she greets her three cats who wondered if she was ever coming home.   She called to say she would like to take me out to breakfast this morning and tell me about her trip.   We followed it on Facebook and now we will hear the details and enjoy a trip through Canada and a small part of the East Coast.   If I had known in advance she was going anywhere near a Jewish bakery I would have asked for a loaf of real pumpernickel bread as only made on the East Coast.    I have tried it here but it is not true pumpernickel, just in looks but not in taste.  Years ago, when a friend of mine heard I was moving back East, the first thing he asked me to do was to be sure I mailed back a loaf of pumpernickel bread, and I did.   I wonder if they have good Jewish bakeries in Delaware;  if so, I will tell son John I'd like a loaf of pumpernickel for my Christmas present.  Good idea!! My taste buds are at the ready!!

Here at Ridgemont it is quiet.   I had not been up to lunch for a couple of days as I 'had other fish to fry' as the old expression goes.   Virginia, 'Ginny' was happy to see me and said she missed me.   Good to hear and hopefully she had someone sit with her.  She is so quiet that she doesn't give off an inviting aura and that is sad because she really is a beautiful lady inside and out.   I was delighted to hear that she was once a fourth grade school teacher.  I also found out she has two daughters but not close by.  She traveled a lot and has a lot of tales to tell, but is wrapped up in the cloak of her religion and is content to live quietly.  She is joining in the conversation more and that is a good thing.    Meanwhile, Vinnie showed up, he tends to  hibernates every now and then, but he was there and I was not.  We read for about an hour and caught up with our story.   I must have been missed as I got a thank you; a handshake and a kiss on the cheek.  Um....I should go away more often.  There have been several of our folks missing this past week, not sure if they are off on vacation visiting family and friends or if they are just staying quietly in their rooms.   There is a kitchen in each unit so if one doesn't want to participate in the institution food they can fix something on their own.    The food has improved this month, so maybe that written group effort has had some effect.    One of our ladies is in the hospital as she cut her leg brushing by her walker.   I'll have to check and see how she is doing.   Then, one of our men, whose name I have yet to hear, left the lunch room early as he was having a bad day.  I understand he has cancer and some days are not easy to  survive.   It is sad as you want to have a magic cure.

So, today when you stop to think about what kind of a day you want to have for yourself, give a thought to the elderly, wherever they may be, and know that they need blessings and good words , a card, a lunch out, a short visit, a phone call. . . some one thing that makes them feel alive and wanted.   Each one spent a lifetime working hard inside or outside of the home.   They gave much of themselves in living their seconds with caring and love  . . . it's payback time.   If your old timers have gone on through the 'Garden Gate' , then keep them in mind as you donate a little of 'you' and spread a tiny bit of cheer and love.   Hugs are great.    Smiles light up a room . . . as only YOU can.   Hugs to all.

Faces

Mr. and Mrs. C. and their new edition.

The beautiful Natalia

Big Brother Joseph

A lovely Family . . . A Very Special Day
This is Judy's son John and his family who live in Colorado.   They even let me play great-grandmother.   Judy is so generous, loving and loves to share.  A memory day.
A day to present you to your name day...a child of God......a saint's name???....a family name?    ......are you happy with your name?   A lot of folks would choose something different...but what???  Not an easy things to do.

Sheila met up with some friends in Boston, of all places,  she had been to Quincy to return that car she drove across Canada and down to New England.   She had lobster at every stop she could find and she is now just beginning to feel a bit homesick so will be catching a flight home this week.   A wonderful vacation and I am betting she is  already planning to save up for the next vacation trip .

Speaking of faces....and age.....These folks have been around since 1928.  I seem to remember they looked a lot nicer;  but then didn't we all??

Now that is a truism.
Thank you all for your prayers and good words.  Patricia came through her six hour testing fine.   She will have to keep a check on herself as she starts the new pill and it is a daily one and one that will make her 'tired'  ... a word she often uses now as M.S. leaves you exhausted all of the time.   The pill has been around for about five years and there are some good tales and it gives hope to those that have this insidious disease.    She did not have heart problems , didn't turn yellow with jaundice, and came home hungry so she and Christine picked me, who played with Emma all day, and we had dinner at the Lighthouse.   I had a canapé....puled pork, tiny sandwiches that were very, very tasty.   The girls shared a hamburger as they are huge and had a small salad , then caught me up with the details of the experience of the day.   I do have to report Emma was a jewel.   We had about six walks along the back yard pathways;  played catch the ball, did that pulling of a toy which makes me crazy as I am afraid of pulling her teeth out.   We had our lunch and some rest time as well.  So  we are all tired tonight and ready for early bed time.

So, be sure you give your doctor and dentist a jingle and make an appointment for your check up.   Stay healthy and happy and work at being the best you can be.    Remember to be kind and loving and you will stay happy and be to busy to catch anything but smiles and sunshine in your life.   Again......my sincere thanks for your kind words and prayers.   Hugs to all.

Dog Sitting

We have a town some miles away that has lavender fields and they are beautiful;  not quite as luscious as this one pictured but close and special shops to buy the lavender soaps and crèmes along with a lavender ice cream cone.   A good spot to head for when you want to commune with nature.

Blue birds, Love birds, beautiful birds. . . chirping birds, natures gift.

The harmony of color.    I see a bird, a blue bird, the rest must be all beautiful leafy feathers.   I've shown this picture before but I hate to part with the beautiful colors.    It does the mind, the heart and the soul good to commune with such gorgeous colors.

The Milky Way.   Oh to be away from city lights and see this in our sky.    By the way tonight is the big night for the lunar eclipse, so don't forget to go outside and take a peek at the heavens and watch the show!

If you noticed this blog is written on Sunday, but late in the day as I am off to baby sit Emma while Pat and Christine go over to Seattle to a medical appointment and test for Pat in hopes of finding some help for the M.S.    I dread the idea of experimental medication which the doctors are not sure of.  They use the M.S. patients as guinea pigs in hopes of finding a cure.  The sad part is telling the patient that it could have very bad effects on their body, and in this case blindness was mentioned, heart failure, leaving one with the helpless feeling of being between a rock and a hard place.   Pat is tired of being tired. She wants to keep moving and doing as long as possible so she is brave and is going to do what she has to do to survive.   So, now as you are reading this, please take a few moments and say a prayer for some success.    "Ask and ye shall receive"  a promise made;  let us pray and hope for a cure for M.S. and all the other insidious diseases that play havoc on so many folks.    There are so many of us blessed with good health, a gift I'd say.    We don't always think about the folks who have to carry the cross of illness, through not fault of their own, and it is here where we could shine by taking the time to offer a hand, a word, a hug, a treat, anything to make one day as good as it gets for the one suffering.

Bend your knees, lift up your eyes, open your mouth and let the words, the thoughts and the deeds flow as our lists grow every day.    Your health is the most important factor of life.  Without it you cannot say, mean or do all of the necessary second by second living it takes to make your world go around.   Keep an open mind, reach out, in the way you do best.  Go, be good, kind, gentle, and add a little helpfulness in the mix today.    Hugs to all.

Sunday Rants

Looks like Pat's Emma when she was a tiny pup and now she is almost six years old and is more beautiful than ever.  She's a loving dog and our lives would be empty without her.

Blue Birds . . . Mother Earth news shows so many lovely bird pictures they receive from photographers from all over.   A special talent and a good eye.    Thanks for sharing .. . . the Blue Bird of Happiness!!!

Remember I wrote up the story of Sheila and her experience with the elk...well this is the one that was pawing the ground because she spoke to its mate. . .jealousy?   Or just plan mean.   She said she was scared and I know I would be.  She got under the table fast;  I'd probably be frozen solid and scare him away.

Hey there Marcia, good to get a peek at you.    Miss our lunches.  Miss the hugs.   Yes, I miss you.

What is that song about sunshine in the meadow. . . a summer day. . . afield of wild flowers . . . doesn't get much better than that.    "There's a bright summer haze in the meadow. . .la, la, la....

Well my Saturday was a quiet one, didn't do much but try and find and sort out some of the puzzle pieces.   I enjoyed my table company at lunch today and find the folks come around to hear me read to Vinnie but just will not sit down and join us.  They want to visit.  They want to know what the book is about.  They all know there was  a movie all about this Herman Wouk work and yet, they do not stay but a few minutes.    A puzzle, as they are more than welcome to sit in.   We had pizza and salad today and no one is complaining as the other choice was liver and a few like it but the majority would vote it out of the menu.

Are you watching the dates?    September is about to leave and it seems like it just got started.    I have to mention the weather as we have had a few sprinkle like showers but no big storms, guess they are going to come later.   The majority of days stayed within the seventies with an occasion flare but nothing I could write and complain about to you.  You wouldn't listen anyway.....smile.    You are busy with your own weather and from what I hear heat has kept you busy along with wind.   Nature playing clown.

I have a breakfast out invitation this morning and I am anxious to see where we will go and whether I want to order a lovely omelet or my old standard biscuits and gravy.    Maybe I can exchange something on the plate and have it all.  I have decided to have coffee at home anymore.  The last time I saw three dollars for a cup of coffee I almost had as stroke.  I carried on like a banshee and am still aggravated to think that we are being gouged  . . . how dare they????  I have already battered this subject around;  my poor old depression mentality just can't grasp the prices of today.  Five dollars for a loaf of decent bread, junk style for a cheaper price but not quality.   Do you get the idea I am not happy with what is going on in our world?  You are right....I am not happy with any of it.     Guess I'll make baking powder biscuits as they are always good and I like them and easy to make.  Of course I have that fire alarm to contend with. . . . Christine would say; "oh for heavens sake, order the coffee."
So, make up your mind today as to what you want to order for your breakfast...cooking in or out.....out is fun, menu and choices, whatever you choose I hope it is delicious and delectable and good for your morale and your system as well.    Bring a smile along, a bit of a tale or two and look for that one person who needs the good deed, the hug and the little bit of attention to brighten his or her day.   Be content, be happy and share YOU with those you like and love.  Hugs to all.

Know

Lovely to look at.

A truism.

There is something about a flight of birds heading home that lets you know day is done.

I know some wonderful friendly gardeners in Brookings Oregon who manage to do this all the time.   Maybe that is why they have a big sale day every year to help others fill in their gardens.    Some of the loveliest yards around.   Master Gardeners all.   Come to think of it there are a couple in Gold Beach I know and they have not only trees and bushes but flowers that delight the eyes and vegetable gardens that delight the pallet.    Happy green thumbs to them all.

Well Friday has come and gone and it was a 'down' day here at Ridgemont, Laundry day for me and that takes a chunk of time out of ones day.   I tried filling the washer before going up for lunch and it worked fine as all I had to do was check the wash out when I got through and place the clothing in the dryer and cut my waiting time  in half.  Now to get permission to do it more often as no one was on the list to use the laundry room and my time was open if someone wanted to use it.   Carolyn came in took one look at the puzzle and went back to tell her friend Ron about it and he stopped in to check it out and left, but Aggie came with her coffee thermos and stayed to look, but didn't touch.   Instead of finding puzzle pieces we had a good old fashioned gab session and that was fun.   Doesn't get the puzzle done but at least it is looked at.   Guess I'll have to do it myself.   I think Aggie said she told her niece and her niece said "she must be crazy" ;  I agree, fifteen hundred pieces is just too much, no space, hard to organize.  But it is started and it is coming along, it is just going to take time and right now I have some to spare.  Meanwhile our crew here has decorated for the upcoming Halloween holiday and the tables have new cloths and pumpkins and flowers.  Very pretty and festive.

Later I treated my daughters to Mexican food.   The restaurant doesn't look like much but the manager is very friendly and the platters are filled to the brim with delicious Mexican food, and I mean platter.    I enjoy their company and love to hear what they did with  their seconds of the day.    We all have the travel bug, guess the Fall weather brings that on as going off somewhere would be fun before the winter months set in.  Or, maybe it is the daily recap from Sheila who is off touring through Canada and was leaving Nova Scotia yesterday for parts of New England then a flight home.   She has blogged on Facebook and it sounds like she had a tremendous vacation retracing her steps of a few years ago.   Time and money factor in so I doubt we can go far, but it is nice to just think about it.

Maybe you can travel;  if so, come this way.   I think you would love some of the Northwest scenery and I know you would love following the special restaurants along the way as they really do know how to treat the taste buds.   You might like the ferry ride to Seattle, or you might like driving along the old two way highways and stop off at some of the small towns.   Just an idea when you are thinking of vacation.   Meanwhile, September is leaving and October is  coming up;  and we start thinking holidays.   Time to get ready.   Time to share you with those you like and love.    Time, seconds, fly bye and for the most part we are not even aware of it.    Time to organize YOU so you can have your seconds lined up just the way you want them.    Tempus Fugits  so don't waste any.    Be good, be kind, be gentle, be the giver of love and laughter and 'shine'.   Hugs to all.

Only If YOU Dare!!

The attachment came from a friend today to remind me to laugh out loud at being OLD, a good idea and I had to laugh out loud as the truth always makes one laugh if one has an open mind and a sense of humor.    So family and friends this is just a little humor about getting old. . . it isn't all bad.   There are days when memories make up for the 'status quo'.

You all have not reached this age of humor but you are on your way so you might as well cut out a few favorites for a sad or rainy day.

The end of the week coming up and a weekend to enjoy.    I hear there is a good new Robert Redford movie out...um.....sounds good to me but I'll wait for the tape as once in a dark movie in a comfortable chair the urge to nap takes precedence.

Meanwhile, think of how you want to spend your seconds and get to work on spending them wisely.   Bring laughter to someone you like and love.   Be benevolent; share a bit of money for the people who have lost everything in a fire;   add a few dollars to buy a few coupons for a free meal for a homeless person and think about treating yourself to celebrating YOU.   Hugs to all.

Same stuff different day!!!!

what a picture of strength and beauty.   Great form, wonder if it is a racer?   Looks like a winner to me.

I saw one just like this out of the bus window on our way to Sequim.

This is a sad truism.   How many times some people use and abuse others as they use them as their personal listening post, then drop them when life is not so threatening .  They are not true friends, just users when it is convenient for them, then they ignore you until the next crisis.   No one has the right to 'use' you; turn a deaf ear and let them solve their own problems.   They don't want your advice, just a listening post so let the drama queens find another stage.

A truism.    I love hugs, don't you?    Someone said we need twelve a day. . . well, that is a big order, I'll take what I can get and you had better too.

A male bus driver, kind, helpful and a good driver sped us on our way to a town called Sequin a good hours drive away from Port Orchard.   Familiar two lane roads, more pines than oaks or maples; a weeping willow was a bit different though.   I did bring the camera which was not working due to battery needs which left me puzzled as I just changed them.   Have to have the girls look it over and see what is going on.  A big disappointment as I hoped to have pictures of the trip for you today. The sky was filled with massive picture clouds, wind clouds that were fun to see as I  let my imagination run wild.  A rainbow filled the sky so I was hoping the pot of gold was at the end . . . well, one has to have a little wishful thinking on going.    We had a stop of about twenty minutes due to the bridge being open.   The talk was that it would be an hour as there were two barges going through and it would be an hours wait.  Lucky for us it was only one barge and it was almost through when we got to the area.   We went on and finally got  to a casino which was large and clean and had two large areas filled with all kinds of gaming machines.   No Keno, they got rid of them according to one of the floor ladies.   Three of the ladies and I went for the restaurant and had a bowl of chowder before hitting the machines, once you start to play you don't stop for a snack.   We agreed to meet later for a desert and we did.  I had an upside down cheesecake with berries and it was delicious, served in a glass container that looked like a Bell canning jar.  No dinner for us tonight...a weeks calories in a dish!!

Our driver was on time and we started back hoping to miss the ferry traffic folks but we were held up for some time as there was a horrific accident which was so sad to see.   A car was pushed off into the side of a field with what looked like half of the side gone, while the small truck was smashed in front like an accordion.  There must have been a loss of life, so awful to see.  It must have happened awhile before we came along as all of the service people were gone.  Only left was the two vehicles and a few of the police responders who were trying to  move traffic along.   So our one hour trip was more like two and a half hours.    That is one scene that puts a damper on a good day away.. Prayers and thoughts of the families and thanksgiving ones for being alive.  It was a very quiet ride home to our apartments, a thank you to our driver for bringing us back safe and sound.   A key in the door, shoes off, a little bent but not broke and a few fun memories of a day spent away, but the accident left a feeling of sadness, and a reminder how short life can be.

So if you drive, obey the rules of the road  and stay safe.   There will be idiots out there so watch out.    Why some folks have to try and take over the road for their rush to the next light is always beyond me but that is the way it is.    YOU plan, take your time and be safe as I wouldn't want to have an accident.    Friends are hard to come by.    Be calm cool and collected, plan to be safe and not sorry.    Be good, be kind, be gentle, and give yourself plenty of time to get where you have to go today.    YOU are important to someone.  I know how important you are to me.    Feel the verbal hugs, I'm sending a few your way.   Hugs to all.

Beauty and the Beasts

And we need all the help we can get.

Tattos are something when new and bright but let a bit of age get to them and dull is a good word;  all things fade with time so we are blessed .   Now if we could say that about the 'church ladies' who say one thing but mean another....two faces, wonder which ones they will show when they reach the end of the Garden Gate?

How beautiful.  I bet it smells good too.

A truism.

I think he has a thought or two there.

Amen to that.    Some day the truth will out.

Well here it is hump day and I am off for the day.   I am going on a bus trip some one hour away and I hear the ride is lovely, scenic, beautiful, so hopefully the camera will be at the ready and I'll get a good shot or two to share with you.   At the end of the drive there is a small casino so that should be a lunch stop and maybe a try at one of the machines. Who knows today may be the day the machine will spill out a ticket for a free lunch . . . I said maybe!

Yesterday I found my way to a medical group building, went inside and looked around at empty offices with lots of equipment but no people.  Walked around and thought it was strange but found an elevator which I took to the second floor and found a very posh office with three ladies waiting and ready to attend to your needs.    I asked if the doctor was taking new patients and they said yes so I got out my information and am signed up for an early October date to meet this new doctor.   When I got back to join the lunch bunch I was telling them where I signed up and one lady immediately told me how awful this doctor is; but another said he was extra good , so I guess I'll have to decide for myself when I meet him.

There is not a lot of new news coming out of Ridgemont this week.    The group of singers will be entertaining the rest of the folks while we tootle down the highways.    They missed out last month but are making it up today and have been practicing some new tunes.   I hate to miss them as they do a good job and it gives our toes a chance to tap out a tune or two.   We do hum along and that doesn't seem to bother them at all.    It is nice that some of our ladies are interested in singing and joined this group.  Music seems to bring out the best in all of us.    I hope you looked at that special video the other day;   the one with the opera singers singing to the school children.  It was wonderful , funny and well worth watching.   In case you missed out, go to . . . http://www.youtube.com/embed/JNgCM7zp30M......hope it is still available.

Have you had a Hogie lately?    We did, last night for dinner and it was so good.    I haven't had one in a very long time and every now and then it is great to remember an old favorite and resurrect it.  We used a special grain bun which was delicious and put some Italian hams, beef and mozzarella cheese, wrapped it up in foil, put it in the oven and voila...a feast.   The apple cake Christine added for our desert was very, very, good.   See, if you were close by you could be partaking in our little feasts.    Next best is to make one of your own and invite a family member or two in, along with a neighbor  and have a dinner party...why not?   It makes for a special feast with friends.

Donate to the fire funds as it is badly needed.   Washington was burning up;  now California, and Nevada had its share as well.   It is going to take a lot of money to help those who were completely burned out.   There but by the Grace of God go I. so dig a bit deeper this time and be as generous as you can be.    Winter, holidays, and homeless. . . something is very wrong about that.   So hum that little tune,  'dig, dig, dig, well all right..."   There are signs posted at the checkout stands at your grocery outlets.

Love life, give out with the sunshine smile with your eyes;    don't hold back on the hugs as they are magic touches and needed;   And don't forget to be good to YOU.   Hugs to all.

Love and Like

Now these are cute;  bet they taste good too.    "Pony boy, pony boy, wont you be my pony boy, don't say no, here we go , ride across the plain,  marry me, carry me, ride away with me,  giddy up, giddy up, giddy up, whoa,  my pony boy" .. . . bet you hum that one a few times today...

I miss the Sierras.   I used to see this scene when riding the bus down the mountains from Reno to Sacramento . . .oh my, that was a long time ago.

Just a lovely scene.   It would be nice to go for a sail at sunset.   Ah, peaceful!

Way to go Bobby Jindal...Late in the race but a new voice may shake up the voting crowd.

I have no idea what this beautiful bird is called.   It is so pretty.  Love the colors, a blend of summer shades.

Well my friends, Tuesday has come around again and it is going to be cool and beautiful here in Port Orchard.   The Fall colors are becoming more brilliant as the days go by and after our little shower and a lot of wind yesterday the fallen leaves beg to be picked up and put in a vase, or a dish,  so you can bring a little of the outside in.    Brittle and beautiful , a few small rocks and a twig or two and you have a Fall bouquet to change your attitude today.  Yesterday I was invited to tea.   I told you I would tell you all about it.   The Gallery Group, as I call them, are the movers and shakers of our town.   They are creative and just plain wonderful.    The tables were set, lovely colorful napkins with leaves in fall colors.   A lovely centerpiece with small leaf dishes filled with colorful pumpkin and corn candies and peanuts to nibble while waiting for the food to be served.   A catered affair well served and delicious as we had choice of lemonade, coffee and ice water.   The plate of salad, delicious mac and cheese along with a sandwich of meatloaf and cheese;  all tasty and well presented.   The desert was apple crisp, a delicious  ending to a lovely affair, and I might just add, a filled room.   The ladies put on a presentation of the work they completed so far this year.   They are proud of their accomplishments and well they should be.  The next few months are already planned out and the spirit will prevail.   I am already thinking of saving up for the next tea.

Meanwhile, take a little time out today and go into your computer and pull up , http://www.youtube.com/embed/JNgCM7zp30m.   A video you will love and replay several times.

A true lesson in Love.

So today, as you go about your business and are busy, busy, busy . . . think , just for a minute about someone who would sparkle from a call from you.    It just takes a few minutes of  your time and it adds hours of joy to theirs.   There is a wonderful man here in Port Orchard who donates his time visiting and helping the older members of society who have no family to see to them or anyone to call or visit as some have lost everyone that had been in their lives.  He is a marvel and he delights in sharing himself with those who have no one.  Finding a single flower in a little plastic vase at your front doorstep does wonders for the morale.  You are so young, you probably don't think of this, but I bet if you looked around your own neighborhood you would find one or two who are in that 'boat' and could use a fresh donut to go with their coffee;   a hug;   a smile;   or the relief of having someone take a small list to the store to refurbish their supplies.   I think it is listed under 'good deeds'   or maybe it was one of those seven wonders we were told to practice during our life time.   and, I might add that YOU benefit most of all.  Try it and I promise you will like it.    Hugs to all.

Nothing Special

Remember I wrote and told you about the tea , "An Afternoon  In Paris"  The table with the special fancy tea cups and our berets.....well here I am in all my glory.

How true and the older you get the more silver you get in your hair and the wrinkles begin to match up on both sides of your face, the nose never stops growing and we worry about a few scars . . . I know if I can't say something nice, I shouldn't say anything at all......I just don't want you to be scared when you look in  the mirror, it is the normal natural look of a beautiful person.  You lived.  You earned every blemish and scar so really it is something to brag about.

Jupiter and its moon.   Fantastic Pictures had several great photographs.  Some camera shots from space.

When you wake up, grab a cup of coffee and saunter back tot he computer to blog, you have had your exercise for the day.

So today, the start of your new week, a sigh that the weekend is gone and there is work to be done both inside and outside of your home, sit an extra minute and enjoy your coffee along with some breakfast as it should be your best meal of the day.   Listen to the weather forecast , a bit of news, find your keys and get ready for a busy day ahead.   If you are retired, roll over and think about getting up at a decent hour and then get on with your day.

I had a quiet weekend here at Ridgemont, if you can call moving the puzzle frame from the puzzle board to the table because of three pieces that wouldn't fit.  1500 pieces is just too much...but it is started and now to finish it sometime in the future; this one is going to take time.    Of course it was not easy as it fell apart and pieces hit the floor;  exercise, well let us just say I got more than I needed especially my mouth as I picked pieces off the floor.   The board is filled with pieces now and it is not a bad idea, you can spread them out and see just what you have although it doesn't spotlight the one piece you are looking for.   Ah, a lesson in patience and fortitude.   Doris stopped in, took one look at the puzzle and shook her head.   She had just finished a 300 pieced puzzle and could not get the last pieces to fit in.    I had to laugh as she is one who thinks pounding in a piece will make it work.    She had more lumps and bumps than she knew what to do with.    She said she will stick to her baking , so dropping off a couple of her pumpkin muffins was her good deed for the day.   Someone told her to take a cake mix and a can of pumpkin, mix it together and bake....not bad, a little doughy, tasty if you like pumpkin....not one of my  favorites.   I am for hot apple turn overs out of the oven....yum.

Make your Monday sing.   One good deed started with a hum , two good deeds and you can add some words,  three good deeds and you can howl to the moon and congratulate yourself for being one of the 'good' guys.    Don't forget to smile with your eyes,   grin and show those pearly whites and share a hug or two.    there is a song Jimmy Durante used to sing....'Make someone happy.'...wish I could remember the words....I am off to make me happy...coffee....coffee...ah. . . if you were close by I'd pour you a cup.    Hugs to all.
