Hey There!

Beauty.

Beautiful Art work

and the trail leads to Mt. Hood for a beautiful hike

and what could be more beautiful than a drive to Sonoma County and the Wine Country.

Friday, all day, and it leads us to a weekend to enjoy nature at its best, or catch up on all those chores we were to busy to do all week.   I prefer to take a nice hike out but it is laundry day for me.    I am not used to having my time limited to certain hours to do special chores, but it is the only way that there is peace and harmony in the apartment complex.   Time is accounted for and necessary when you have so many folks that have to get their chores done;  so we do our best to follow the rules and keep a sense of harmony.

My history filing job is coming along.    I had file folders dated from 1970 to 1979 in order but now they have to be scanned and filed into the original folders that I did when I was here on vacation a couple of years ago.   This is a neve4r ending job an one I will not be able to complete in my lifetime.    As much as we have worked to make sense out of the boxes of paper;  the duplication and the senseless holding on to scraps that are meaningless makes me wonder why the 'old' folks didn't handle the filing as it happened rather than box it up and store it in a dank dark basement.    Hopefully  scanning it all in will eventually make it easy for someone to find a special item they need but I doubt anyone cares or will ever look at the files.  There are those on a committee who fear letting go of the paper even though they will have it on film.    One of the mysteries.

We are due for a new round of heat.   It is not fun, especially for daughter Patricia who gets vertigo when it reaches over seventy.    Not fun.   Hopefully there is a medication that will alleviate that awful dizziness.    Say a prayer and donate to the M.S. folks in hopes for a cure.  It really is a very debilitating disease.

Here in the old 'homestead' the ladies are showing off their best bib and tucker when they go to lunch.    Some are mentally sixteen forever and come in shorts or long gowns or dressed to the nines with jewelry dangling and even some makeup.   I go up in usual uniform, so can't say a lot about fashion.    It is fun to see.   Some are so bright and light up the room.  some are dressed for the opera and some are dressed for a walk on the beach.   Footwear can be awesome to see from special stockings that look like slippers; one actually still in heels, but not very high, and some in sneakers of colors to make your eyes spin.    All in all it tells a lot about their personalities.    Most shop at Goodwill , only a few have shopping money for the big mall.    As for the men, what can I say, a pair of pants and a shirt...what else....they have it made.    Makes me think of  "Ma" who used to say that she would much rather raise boys as all you had to do was put a pair of pants and a shirt on them and they were dressed for all occasions, but girls , that was a horse of another color, and usually an expensive one.

So today dress up and go out for a walk in the sunshine;  if it is raining go anyway and enjoy the raindrops.    Meet and greet those you meet along the way with a smile, a hug and a good word or two.    Take time to be kind and gentle as we all need a happy face to bring out the best in us.    Be patient with those in tears, one never knows what caused them.    Open up those arms, walk into a hug and a peck on the cheek really doesn't hurt.     Hugs to all.
