Gallery Tea

Have you ever been to Paris, France?   I have, but I didn't get the choice of tea poured by an elderly gentleman who volunteered to be one of the tea pourers.    He was diligent in his duties and made sure we never had an empty cup.    The Gallery Crew did an outstanding job.    There are not enough adjectives to tell you how they planned and pulled off an afternoon tea in Paris.   From the greetings;  Bonjour, being given a fancy chapeau to wear, settling in and seeing the smiling ladies carrying  trays of tiny sandwiches, scones, apple roses, chocolate mousse and a huge cookie in a pink and black frosting, a replica of the Eiffel Tower painted on , to the last Adieu, everyone responded with a round of applause in appreciation for a lovely tea.  The tables were set  in lively pink and white; a tiny hat box filled with chocolates to take home.    There was a drawing for gifts and one of the ladies at our table was a winner.   I came close, one number away from a win;  such is my luck!

The ladies of the Gallery did an outstanding decorating job, and those that baked all the surprises deserve much praise.   A table with an array of beautiful tea cups was set up and we chose the one we wanted to drink our tea from.   A hard choice as each one was lovelier than the other.   There were tea cups and saucers a collector would give a lot of time and money to own.

The town Princesses, lovely young high school girls, ere and ready to help where needed.   They all are so young and beautiful and look extra special in their tiaras and lovely dresses.   They are more an happy to attend every and all events that show their pride in Port Orchard and its people.

I enjoyed meeting some of the ladies I had met before when I visited Port Orchard over the years.  They are the same ladies that participated in the yearly dinner affair that used to be so much fun to prepare for and put the imagination to work on whatever the theme was for that special dinner.  Christine always let me have free rein over the decorations for our tables.  It was a lot of fun. Our table mates were fun and interesting.   New friends and a luncheon date later.

I have no idea what the group are planning next, but I am sure it will be wonderful.   They make fun of raising funds.

So be sure if your friends are having a fund raiser that you buy a ticket and partake in the activity and help make it a big success.  Give of yourself, give of your time, give of your money, give of your good will and help make it a success so that your group can accomplish what they want to do for the community.    Scholarships for your children and grandchildren are not a bad idea at all.    Some of those children will grow up and give back in so many ways.

So, again, my congratulations to a wonderful Gallery Group, may you regroup from all your hard work and be ready to plot and plan the next event.    Put a ticket or two away for me.  I'll come.

Hugs to all.
From daughter Christine's kitchen where she and daughter Patricia made the lovely tasty tea roses.
