Time Out

A good thought for today.

Angie's picture of the morning sunrise.  How beautiful.

I love a fireplace and miss having one.   There is beauty in the fire itself as it burns a log or two.

Yep, that's me.   I treated my girls to fish and chips at the Chart House restaurant in Crescent Cit y.   We watched one wayward young pup bark and call for attention and then climb over the sleeping giants looking for attention.  He actually  made it to the end of the long pier they are on and created havoc as he went.  He laid low for a second or two and next we saw him in the water which seemed to be a signal for the others to get up and move......they did and all but a few jumped in.
Erin got such a kick out of them.   Sea Lions....barking, mischievous  and amusing.    A good way to wait to be served.

Sea Lions at rest.
Friday, how fast this week went by.   We had quite a down pour during the night.  I awakened to hear the tinkle of the stove hood  vent so knew it was coming down hard, a real soaker.  I was a bit upset reading the news item on Facebook about the Goodwill Industry taking advantage of receiving free merchandise and selling it at high prices, paying the young challenged folks a pittance and their high management folks over four hundred thousand dollar salaries . . . and we wonder what is wrong in our world . . . the first of many  ills.   We just had a Goodwill store open here in Brookings.  I wonder if the write up will make a difference.  Just one more 'bee in our bonnet.'  It reminded me of an event in the sixties when we had a visitor from Hungry , the brother of one of the nuns at our church.  He was amazed at what he found here in America and said he could become a multi-millionaire  on our waste alone.    So times haven't changed much and Goodwill Industries found the inroad.  I know we will donate to  what we refer to as  'the dog place' , a local thrift store where the employees are volunteers and the unwanted animals are taken care of until homes can be found for them.

Have a 'good' Friday and prepare for the weekend coming up.    Make it a restful weekend and relax.  Share you with those you love.   Don't forget smiles and hugs and throw in a good deed or two.  Hugs to all.
