Sunday

Walt Disney and his wonderful imagination;  his love of life, and his imaginative way with fairy tales.   The stories he told the movies he made and two of our favorites are wishing us well this Sunday morning.  Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  We had a Minnie Mouse in our lives, a tall no nonsense adopted grandma who made the children mind and they loved her for it.

A good way to start the day . . . a blessing. . . we can certainly use one.

Sheila has three cats and this little one loves to play with bags.   What a cutie.

The deer that visits the cat every morning.   I think it is love at first sight.  Reminds me of Frank Sinatra and his "Strangers In the Night"  la, la, la,   Maybe it could be 'love is blind' and that is a thought that should carry on as we never know 'a book by its cover'. . . just playing with words . . .  you knew I would.    Are you ready?   Our word for today is slimsy . . . ooh , what ring that has to it.   Means flimsy or frail  "When he asked if she needed a rest...she didn't want him thinking she was soft and slimsy ."  The history....used in the 19th century.  The reasons why some words flourish and other fail by the lexical wayside are often unclear, but what is clear is that 'slimsy' is firmly in the latter category.  It has very little current use.

Ah, a lovely snow scene.   A crystal tree.   A back yard that does not have to be shoveled.  Nothing 'slimsy' about this tree.

Sunday morning and we are heading for more rain storms this coming week.   Bundle up so you don't catch a cold.   If you  smile with your eyes you can have a conversation with a perfect stranger at the meat counter at your local grocery store.  I met a delightful gentleman who had smiling eyes and  groused just as loud as I do about the cost of meat these days.   Twenty minutes later we were still having a conversation about his ties with Washington State; his good deeds and his wife waiting in the car and oh  yes, daughter Pat was patiently waiting for me.    Well, you have to grab on when  you can.  SMILE!!!

Go. . . do your good deed for the day.   Smile with your eyes and see where it leads.    Hugs to all.
