Food For Thought

All of the above are great reminders to take much better care of what we put into our mouths.    We do need to know what changes are made in our food chain.   We do need to know how the additives effect our bodies.   We do need to know how to grow our own food, and  most of all we do need to know how to prepare it for consumption.    We just need to know we need quality over quantity.

A truism for sure.  A man with a sense of humor.

A  new week and the starting word is 'addlepated'.  I haven't heard that in a long time.   "Her addlepated mind flitted butter-fly-like from one often unrelated subject to another."  We have all been called that one time or another.   The word was used in the 17th century.  Modern days I think the word 'nut's is more in tune when our brain is addled.

We are probably all going a bit addlepated these days as our food chain seems to be changing.  I have found a lack of quality and shelf life of our fresh fruits and vegetables.    Meat and Fish are so high priced you have to buy a little bit and try to make it go a long way.   I still depend a lot on hamburger to stretch the meat budget.   It changes price every other day and you can go from four to six dollars a pound these days.  I wish my depression day income would  cover  some of those lobsters, prime rib and other delicacies  but it doesn't  and you become addlepated with your champagne taste and beer pocketbook.

The start of our new week.   I was proud of the French people showing up on their streets by the millions to protest against the terrorists who have decided they can pick and choose whomever they want to end their life.    No pushing, no shoving, no shouting;  a peaceful march with banners and a wish to live without fear.   Leaders from many countries joined the French president  to show solidarity.  Wonder where Obama was?   Who was there to represent us?   Think about it.

Put on  your thinking caps this week.   Make sure you  live your seconds wisely.   Be  your brother's keeper and help where you can.    Stop to think, to look, to listen and be wise and comforting.   An open mind and an open heart can lead you into a week of wonders.  Don't forget the smile and the hugs, all free, don't cost you a penny  and think of what  you  get in return.   Hugs  to all.
