A snow day in Prescott, Arizona. Bob and Andrea said goodbye to their daughter Wendy who returned to her job and life in Japan. They had two wonderful weeks together and shared hikes and trips around their 'neck of the woods' . The snow storm was a holiday present they didn't expect but from all accounts they certainly enjoyed. A beautiful picture, taken by Wendy of a quiet day at home.
Speaking of quiet, there was no noise in my neighborhood last night to see the new year in. Not one fire cracker. All the noise was on the television where there was much to see. Pat and Erin were over early in the evening and brought the makings of a delicious pizza. Erin made a new topping that was delicious and healthy, a great way to end the old year and remember to take good care our ourselves in the new year. John sent me the third copy of Ken Follet's trilogy so you know what I will be doing later in the week. I have the fourth book of Clive Cussler to finish up and then I can go revisit the 11th century. How lucky we are to have the gift of being able to read and go off to life between the pages as the wonderful talented authors share their magic of the written words. Speaking of words, the first word on my new daily calendar is 'warison' a bugle call to attack. "The battalion charged forward the instant they heard the warison." I didn't know that. So I am off to learn a new word every day. If I'll remember it that will be nothing short of a miracle.
So take charge of yourself this coming new year and hear the warison so you can do battle when and if you have to. There is no law that says you cannot write to your Senators and Congressmen and tell them to get off their duffs and fight for our rights to live in the pursuit of life, liberty and a bit of happiness. Be alert, be kind, be gentle, be YOU and keep both feet on the ground. Enjoy a Happy New Year! Hugs to all. |
